Does every lesion require the same treatment?
No. The tooth’s vitality, restorability, periodontal condition, previous procedures and the size and behaviour of the finding help determine the plan. Similar radiographic appearances can have different causes.
Can non-surgical treatment support healing?
When infection within the root canal is the likely cause and the tooth can be restored, initial root canal treatment or retreatment may be considered. Cleaning, disinfection and a well-sealed restoration are central to the plan.
Why can healing take time?
Symptoms may improve before bone changes are visible on radiographs. Clinical and radiographic follow-up at suitable intervals helps assess the direction of healing and whether another approach is needed.
